Sherwood Point Shores

The property was beautiful and on a peaceful spot with quiet neighbors. We had a wonderful time with many campfires. The only minor challenge we had was with the shower temperature... we couldn't find a way to operate it beyond cold, lukewarm and scalding hot.
The property owner was communicative, professional and always responsive. We couldn't has asked for a better experience!

Very rustic place. Needs a really good cleaning. There were gnats all over the floor and kitchen. Also, they had box fans instead of air-conditioning – which normally would be fine, but it was a very humid weekend, unfortunately. Also, the box fans need to be cleaned. They were very dirty.The towels and sheets were clean. And the refrigerator was clean.Wi-Fi worked great.Absolutely gorgeous sunsets.Overall, I think it was a little too expensive for the quality of the place.

Although we had a short three night stay at the house, we really enjoyed our time there. The most enjoyed element of the house was the wrap around screened in porch. Our group spent the majority of our time rocking in the wicker chairs chatting and hanging out. This was followed by the nightly bon fire with a glorious view of the sunset over the bay.
This place is great if you're a group familiar with each other and able to work with the single bathroom, and semi-private bedrooms.

There was no mention of the 15 flight of stairs up to the bedrooms. Had no idea all the bedrooms were upstairs. Another 4 or 5 stairs from the back of property to the water. There is no beach and the description mentions Larsons reef is 40 yards from the beach which I don’t think is accurate . I believe Larsons is across the water. The book on the table is outdated going thru the details of the place . The stairs for us were the main thing. My husband can’t do 15 stairs. He slept on the couch.

It was so relaxing and cozy. Getting up in the morning and enjoying our coffee and breakfast on the wonderful porch and then heading to the shore to catch the views of the lake. We headed to many of the Door county sites during the day and again enjoyed the quiet back at the cabin. Even had a chance to extend and extra much needed vacation.

This was a great vacation house for Door County visits. It was tidy, clean and had all typical and described amenities. The huge porch was amazing for having dinner in the setting sun or just sitting and relaxing on. Everything else in the house was clean and tidy.
The location is very good and quite near Sturgeon Bay. That said, you should know that there is only one truly nearby tavern (about 2 minutes). Everything else is basically a 15 minute drive. Another important aspect of the location is that the shoreline is all rocks covered with razor sharp zebra mussels. Swimming is not ideal and strongly not recommended without water shoes - you will get injured.
When the description says "walls do not go to ceiling" the bedrooms basically share the same "cathedral ceiling" so good for family or close friends.
The home is really an old time but large summer vacation cabin. As long as you're expecting clean simplicity, you won't be disappointed. We would definitely come back.

While the location of this property was good, we were disappointed for the price we paid. This is an old property and one of the more run down in the neighborhood. The worst part- there is no air conditioning- not even a window unit. There is also only one bathroom.

The back yard private shoreline was amazing. Perfect location for a campfire and the sunset!! Really AMAZING location. This old and rustic cabin is cute and quaint! Which I LOVE…but it could be too rustic for some folks: rust stains in the shower and toilet, shower head was quite terrible but we had a sense of humor about it. ;) And the cabin does have a strong damp odor but we were able to have the windows open with perfect weather. All rooms were very tidy. Probably a bit pricey for what it is but we still had a great stay- it’s all about that sunset!

Beautiful location, the view is stunning, it’s private and quaint! We walked to the light house and nearby bar and restaurant. The carbon monoxide detector was beeping and someone came right away to rectify the issue. It’s an older place without air but even on very hot days it cooled off nicely at night.

The positives of our stay are the ease of working with the management group, the stunning view and firepit beside the water, and it does have some cute vintage cabin decor that I appreciated. Also, we love to bring our dog and we were happy to be able to do that.
The cons were that it is very “rustic”. The house was clean but the hard water stains in the toilet and shower were distracting and the shower head was a bit “wonky” and hard to use. The house is nestled in many trees so it is very dark inside even on a sunny day.
I did appreciate the newer coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator.
We did enjoy our stay and touring the beautiful Door County area.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay for the weekend! Very cool layout that everyone loved. The porch is beyond lovely, but the best part was having the lake in the backyard with a fire pit!
We had one issue with the faucet in the kitchen which made washing dishes a little tricky, but that was so minor compared to our enjoyment of the cabin!

We had a Lady Vaca at this Airbnb and it surpassed our expectations! A bit rustic, but very comfortable for the 6 of us. The campfire area was amazing, we spent a lot of time there. The kitchen was well stocked, the refrigerator worked great and we had no problem making dinner.
The standout moment for our stay happened on the last night. Through a series of unfortunate events we managed to completely lock ourselves out of the cabin in the middle of a thunderstorm, late at night. We were stuck on the porch and thankfully had our phones. I messaged the host asking if there was a spare key around and even at that late hour they were very responsive. Eventually we had to pop the screen out of the bathroom window to get back in 🤦🏼‍♀️. The host stayed online with me and was very responsive throughout the whole ordeal and for that I am very impressed and grateful.
We had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend the space for anyone else on a Lady Vaca!

The Good: beautifully treed lot. Wraparound porch and fire pit area were amazing and so relaxing. Vintage serving dishes and linens were charming. Comfortable mattresses and pillows and strong wifi.
The Bad: the pots and pans and knives were also vintage which was not charming as they need upgrading the knives couldn’t even cut an apple well. The fridge and oven did not function well (the sticker for fridge was from 1987) with the refrigerator freezing all our fresh produce and freezer left our ice cream goopy.
The Ugly: the shower water and smell in the bathroom was awful. My husband took one shower and complained that it felt like he was bathing in excrement and smelled worse after. My mom attempted to shower and was overcome by gagging within moments. My daughter and I did cold sink baths and washed our hair in kitchen sink which is insane for $2,000/ weekend with taxes and very expensive cleaning fees.

The location was spectacular! A bit of a hike from shopping, which was preferred for our travel style. Quite secluded with dense trees along the beach, leaving plenty of privacy for our family. We were not noisy, but neither was anyone else! The $400 cleaning fee seems superfluous given the state of the property. I’m not particularly high maintenance when it comes to cabin-life, but to charge fees more than the nightly cost is egregious. We had to wash all of our dishes prior to use due to mouse droppings on the silverware and pots and pans. There were mouse droppings on a blanket on the floor when we came back in the afternoon. If the cleaning fee was not mandatory For just two adults, and infant, and a five-year-old, this would have been five stars.

The place was okay and the view was great. Bring plenty of your own water for drinking as it stinks. Shower water stench was terrible. A pier and larger sitting area by the water would definitely improve the swimming and overall ability to enjoy the water.

This is a beautiful older home in a quiet and lovely area. Great for a family retreat or quiet getaway. However, our stay was dampened due to the fowl smell of the water. We did not feel comfortable to shower or even brush our teeth. I would not recommend this property for this one reason only. We have stayed at many rustic cabins with septic tanks and have never had this issue. If the water was not an issue, 5 stars. For the price, the water issue should be addressed.

This place is as advertised. We had everything we needed at the cottage to have a nice time and the beds were very comfortable. The real appeal is the location on the bay which is beautiful, especially at sunset. As other reviewers have mentioned, this is not a good spot for swimming because of the rocks but it was great to be able to have our own spot on the water.

The location of this property is spectacular. Swimming right in front of the property was really lovely and we had the most amazing sunsets. There is well water feeding the property which smells awful and took some getting used to. I recommend taking lots of your own bottled water. There is a filter pitcher in the fridge. I was so grateful for one review saying to bring your own knives. The kitchen items are not great. I recommend bringing your own pan as well if you plan on cooking at the cabin.
I don’t recommend the property for a group of adults. One bathroom and walls that don’t go all the way to the ceiling is not ideal. It’s a perfect place for a family.

This is a beautiful location, the sunsets were amazing. We enjoyed sitting on the screened porch and having fires on the shore. Lovely that our dogs were welcome. The only drawback was that the rocks in the lake were so slippery with seaweed that no one could get into the water to swim. I have never before found myself unable to access a lake like this. We had expected to be able to swim. We noticed that the neighbors also did not swim. Overall, lovely, just not for swimming.

Beautiful view from backyard of Lake Michigan! We loved the backyard firepit, too. Very nice screened in porch with rocking chairs for relaxation.
No washer/dryer and toilet does not flush well.
No A/C, but fans completely took care of the heat upstairs on warm days.

We loved our stay here! The sunrises and sunsets were absolutely beautiful. We spent lots of time outside on the bay and the front porch. The old home has so much love and character. The hosts were also very responsive in communicating. Comfy beds with linens and towels were so nice. A great stay!

Very spacious cottage about 15 min (south) of Sturgeon bay.
We brought our family of 4, and pups with us for a few days.
Kitchen is well stocked.
We spent most of our time on the porch, and out next to fire pit.
Haines beach is only a 10 min drive if you’re wanting a sandy location to play with the kids.
Heads up if you’re bringing littles and aren’t used to Wisconsin beaches- ensure shoes for the young ones - the rocky shore is rough on our little little ones - the older kids did fine. There is also not much playable yard, but plenty of sitting areas, a nice private drive to takes walk on - and tons of gorgeous views.

The first challenge was finding the right home, it is a shared driveway and the correct driveway has a No Trespassing sign which caused some confusion. The battery operated lock on the door did not work well and we ended up calling and getting a key. Once inside, the pictures are accurate. It is a rustic cabin, the oven does not work appropriately, it literally has a sign on it which states the temperature can vary any where from 50-100 degrees from the setting. The toilet did not work well, it was either continuously running or wouldn’t fill due to the float being stuck so I had to remove the lid and adjust routinely during our stay. The water does have a strong sulfur smell, which after showering seems to linger. The TV remote works occasionally, we even bought new batteries thinking that was the problem, but it did not fix the issues we experienced. I was looking forward to sitting in the back screened in porch, however except for the kitchen table, the furniture is not very sturdy or the plastic was ripped, the furniture is easily from before the 1980’s for sure. We drove up to Fish Creek and Egg Harbor which turned out to be longer than I anticipated which limited our time on occasion. Overall we made the best of it, but honestly we felt a little like we were camping. For the price we paid, I would expect a higher quality, particularly the kitchen and bathroom. Realistically I feel it is worth about half what we paid.

Spacious cottage on the Bay. It's a convenient location, just a few miles from Sturgeon Bay. There were only three in our party but the cottage could handle many more. First floor has an entry foyer opening to the kitchen, a dining room, living room with TV, cozy bathroom with shower, and large enclosed porch or three-season room. The kitchen was well equipped and there were plenty of places to sit and relax. All the bedrooms were upstairs. There was a fire pit by the beach and several lawn chairs from which to enjoy the sunset.

The cottage is so cozy inside, and includes all the amenities any cottage should - board games, binoculars, a wood burning fireplace, and a tv when you need to unwind. The sleeping quarters don't isolate sound as indicated in the description, but they are beautiful and high-ceilinged. I would stay again no question.

The water front location and outdoor seating - pictured first online - is the BEST part of this listing. The other pictures are misleading. Although the owners were easy to work with, and even communicated with us during our stay due to storm power outages in the area, the property itself leaves much to be desired. Surrounding properties have, and are currently, clearly being updated, but that is not the case here. We arrived to find the house completely unlocked, and the property binder containing incorrect information. The walls in the bathroom are currently being patched - and there is a combination of paint and putty throughout. The bath mat was dirty upon our arrival. There is no air conditioning, which is not a luxury, as the upstairs sleeping areas are unbearable during the day in the summer. The storms I mentioned earlier caused downed trees during our stay, and also caused some concern with the always open windows. One of the double mattresses rests directly on a wooden platform without any box springs. There is no dishwasher, and all of the water smells terrible. We had trouble with the toilet functioning properly - in the single bathroom that is the only option for this property which is supposed to sleep eight. Several pieces of the outdoor patio furniture were broken or rusted. If your expectations are low, along with your desire for modern conveniences, you will not be disappointed.

We had a lovely stay and had to force our dog to leave! The house had everything we needed. The outdoor space was the perfect place to eat breakfast and watch the sun set over the lake. We wished we could have stayed longer.

Nice bayside wood cabin, location is perfect. 3 days different kind of sunset view to enjoy.
Offer plenty of wood to fire, kids is fun with fire and stone lakeshore.
Room without celling to the roof is funny for single family.
Cabin is full of appliance and easy to find and use, however knife need to shape.
Cabin is old thus shower water is trickle.
