Such a wonderful getaway! The apartment was quaint, cozy, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. It was the perfect home base for touring the neighboring bays, and we loved coming back after a day of exploring. Great location, peaceful atmosphere, and a charming touch throughout. While everything appeared very clean, we were overwhelmed with a strong smoke/nicotine odor upon walking inside. We messaged the host who was helpful and responsive, but my husband thought chemical freshener would just add to his headache so we had to open windows for a few hours and run a fan. It was pretty frustrating after reading and expecting this to be a smoke free rental. We also traveled with our baby and was expecting the noise after 10pm to be taken seriously by the upstairs unit who were up having a party literally all night. Also, should note that the bathroom door hits the counter as it closes and when you shower the wood swells so it takes a lot of force to pull open the door, a child would not be strong enough and would get stuck. This was a fantastic location and host, my issues are primarily other people (smell and noise), I'd still highly recommend if looking for a clean walkable place.

The house had a lot of charming character inside and out and the host was very communicative. We really enjoyed our time there and it made for a great home base for a weekend getaway.

That the dinning room table was large for our art projects! The kitchen! There was an old fabric chair (not a decor or antique chair) on the porch. I gasp and thought, oh no, a dump from my first impression. Put the chair in the garage!!!!!

Everything was clean and Kathy was very responsive when needed. Only cons were the people upstairs were noisy. This may be due to older house with thin walls. The master bedroom doesn’t have a door on one of the walls that leads to dining room. There is a curtain. This wasn’t a problem as my wife and I were there alone. Breakfast and dinner restaurants in walking distance. It was great location to explore all over Door County.

We loved Kathy‘s place! We arrived late at night and had a hard time seeing exactly where we were, but when we woke up, we found we were in the cutest neighborhood with walkable restaurants, coffee shops, a very short drive to lots of shopping and parks. We spent a lot of time in the surrounding area but also exploring the rest of door county and the drive was totally doable. Kathy’s home was very comfortable and clean and we felt safe in the area with our kids. I would definitely recommend her home for your trip.

Older home , built well. Lots of charm . Sound proof . Could not hear upstairs neighbors voices at all. Back yard lots of space and private , well kept .
Kathy responded to messages instantly. Good location for where we needed to be . Walking distance to a few shops, restaurants. Short drive to downtown .
Would stay again .

The title of the listing lead to some confusion on my part.
It is difficult to convey concisely that the entire lower level of a duplex is the rental space when using "entire home" in title of unit. When I saw "entire home" in title tag line on Airbnb, I had thought it was the entire house rather than entire lower level. It may be just my understanding was a bit off.
However, Kathy is indeed a super host.
She was very patient in explaining the situation, and indeed, info regarding duplex is in the description.
I have had brain injury and need a quiet place in order to get to sleep and stay asleep. Kathy went the extra, extra mile and provided earplugs in the welcome gift and a fan for white noise in the bedroom.
The unit has a covered front porch which is wonderful for sitting in the shade or on a rainy day. A well stocked kitchen, well stocked board games and a puzzle
table, comfortable bed, and quiet neighborhood convenient to activities.
A wonderful place! And kind host!

Kathy's place is beautiful (loved the hardwood floors) and spacious. The living room furniture is comfortable and the beds are outstanding (felt like I was sleeping on a Tempur-Pedic!). But it's the extra touches that makes this place special--Kathy provided some Door Co. treats! Wish we could give this place more than 5 stars.

Fantastic location! Wonderful, clean, comfy home with Great communication!! You will not be disappointed! The outside areas are great to just sit & enjoy the beautiful weather… and the covered porch was great when it rained!! Kathy was in contact quickly & made it so easy to check in, come & go, if there was anyone in the apartment (space #2 to reserve) and even info on the town, taxi service & other suggestions. Thanks for being a gracious hostess!

Absolutely lovely home!! Great location. Incredibly central to downtown Sturgeon Bay, farmers markets, cute health food store and Target! Quiet neighborhood with people walking dogs and walking to town. Home had everything we needed to cook every day. I’d definitely go back!

A pleasant house with rustic charm. The hosts are easy to communicate with and laid back. The neighborhood is relatively quiet, but it's easy to walk into the busier part of town. The town has interesting local spots and the people in it are nice.
